Lorna Jean "Jeanie" Rowden, age 71, resident of 523 S. Judson, Fort Scott, Kan., died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in the Mercy Health Center Emergency Room following an apparent heart attack.

She was born July 3, 1939, in Jackson County, Mo., the daughter of William Pyle and Emily Robinson Pyle.

She married Rev. Ronald Gene Rowden on June 24, 1961 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2006.

Following his death, Jeanie continued to pastor the Victory Bible Training Center in Fort Scott. Her life centered around the church and her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Gene Rowden II and wife Jacqueline, Kansas City, Kan.; and one daughter, Carole Lenelle Cook and husband Timothy, Lenexa, Kan.

Also surviving are two brothers, Robin Pyle, Shawnee, Kan.; and Dwayne Pyle, DeSoto, Kan.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

There was cremation under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel.

A memorial service is planned after the holidays in Kansas City with burial in Kansas City.
