Blu-Jays 1-3 at Humboldt Tournament

HUMBOLDT -- Pleasanton's volleyball team went 1-3 at the Humboldt Tournament here Saturday.

In their opening match, the Blu-Jays (6-13) fought back from 10-point deficits in each game but fell to Crest in two games, 25-21, 25-23. Megan Lowe recorded 8 kills and Johnnea Saulsberry had 9 assists.

Next, Pleasanton fell to Southeast, 29-27, 25-14. Lowe had 16 kills while Karesa Lewis had 9 and Teal Baker had 7. Saulsberry had 10 assists.

Lewis injured her ankle in that match and was unavailable for the third match, a 25-16, 25-22 loss to host Humboldt. Lowe had 3 kills and Saulsberry dished 6 assists.

Pleasanton's victory came over Altoona-Midway, 25-21, 24-26, 25-12. Lowe had 10 kills and Saulsberry dished 12 assists.

The Blu-Jays enter Three Rivers League play tonight when they travel to Moran to take on host Marmaton Valley and Oswego. Play is set to begin at 6 p.m.
