RIVERTON, Kan. -- Uniontown's volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by the Kansas Volleyball Association for the second consecutive week, swept through a non-league quadrangular here Thursday night, beating Columbus and Galena in two games and host Riverton in three.

"We had a good night of volleyball," Eagle head coach Jackie Hall said. "All of the teams we played have quality programs and tested us in many aspects of the game."

All three schools are bigger -- Columbus is in Class 4A, Riverton moves up and down between 4A and 3A from year to year and Galena is 3A.

Scores against Columbus were 25-9, 25-17. Jessie Camac had 4 kills and Hayden Rathbun had 3. Jacy Ermel was credited with 3 blocks, Tayler Shook with 16 assists and Tiffany Poyner with 11 digs.

The Eagles beat Riverton, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, making the Rams just one of two teams to take Uniontown (13-0) to three games this season. Ermel had 8 kills, Rathbun 6, Camac 5 and Jessica Harrison 4. Camac and Harrison had 5 blocks each. Shook delivered 24 assists and Poyner had 29 digs.

"We had to make some adjustments against their middle blocker," Hall said. "She was blocking our hitters quite well on the front row. After we adjusted and tightened up our coverage, we got back on track."

The Eagles finished the night with 25-11, 25-13 wins over Galena. Ermel had 11 kills, Shook 22 assists and Poyner 19 digs.

The Eagles will host St. Paul and Northeast in a Three Rivers League triangular Tuesday night.
