Michael Guilfoyle, 63, of Fort Scott, died at his home Monday evening, Aug. 9, 2010.

He was born Oct. 6, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Thomas Joseph and Rosalea Virginia (Hereford) Guilfoyle.

He married Martha Lou Royston June 24, 1967 in Fort Scott. She survives of the home.

He graduated from Fort Scott High School with the class of 1964, and went on to graduate from Fort Scott Community College in 1966, and then Missouri Southern in 1971.

Michael worked for Key Industries as a Distribution Manager. He was a former Planning Commission Member, an original member of the Good Ol' Days Steering Committee, and a volunteer at the Fort Scott National Historic Site.

Michael is survived by his wife, Martha, his sons, Casey (Carrie) Guilfoyle of Lee Summit, Mo.; and Kelly Guilfoyle of Manhattan, Kan.; two grandchildren, Karis and Maryn Guilfoyle; and two brothers, Patrick (Sally) Guilfoyle of DeSoto, Kan.; and David (Bonnie) Guilfoyle of Lee Summit, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, Father Dan Lorimer will officiate memorial services for Michael at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will follow at the St. Michael's Cemetery at Fulton, Kan., under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
