David Allen Logan Sr., age 61, resident of Fort Scott, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.

He was born April 27, 1949, in Fort Scott, the son of George Millard Logan and Margaret Birdsell Logan.

He attended Fort Scott High School.

David married Dorothy Forester in 1981. She preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2001.

He worked as an auto mechanic.

He attended the Bethel Community Church in earlier years.

His hobbies included wood working, fishing, and watching stock car racing.

Survivors include three sons, David Allen Logan Jr. and wife Brenda, Fort Scott; Chad Logan, Albany, Ga.; and Robert Leighty of Okla.; one daughter, Leslie Logan, Albany, Ga.; and his father, George Logan, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are three brothers, Rev. James Logan and wife Marcile, Neodesha, Kan.; Frankie Logan and wife Margaret, Stoutland, Mo.; and Glen Wayne Logan and wife Laura, Claremore, Okla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friend, Donna Chaplin.

Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.

Burial will follow in Marmaton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
