Anna Louise (McRae) Davis, age 69, went to go be with the Lord on Friday, May 14, 2010 at St. Joseph via Christi Hospital, Wichita, Kan.

She was born March 31, 1941 outside of Mound City, Kan., in the Wesley Chapel neighborhood to the late Walter Earl (W.E.) McRae and Elma May (Paddock) McRae.

She graduated from Mound City High School, Mound City Kansas and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Scott, Kan., where she received her R.N. The training also included hospitals at Hutchinson, Kan., Topeka, Kan., Kansas City, Kan., as well as Fort Scott, Kan.

She worked as an RN at Kansas City, Kan., and Fredericksburg, Va.; a school nurse at Mound City, Kan., School Districts and also at Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. She also worked as a private duty nurse in Fredericksburg, Va., and Wichita, Kan.

She enjoyed singing at church, gardening, animals, the outdoors and loved helping people as well as playing the piano.

She married Ivor K. Davis on Nov. 21, 1967. They later divorced and he passed away on Nov. 26, 2005.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ivor K. Davis II and Janet Davis; her two granddaughters, Samantha and Megan of Hopewell, Va.; sister Alice (Steve) McClain of Wichita, Kan.; sister Althea (Kenny) Wallace of Inman, Kan.; sister, Avis (Richard) Greenstreet of Wichita, Kan. Two nieces: Tammy (Skeet) Starkey of Wichita, Kan., and Sonya Greenstreet of Wichita, Kan.; three nephews: Todd (Sherri) McClain of Fort Gibson, Okla.; Mike (Jill) Wallace of Wichita, Kan.; Brian (Mandy) Wallace of Springfield, Mo.; and six great niecese, seven great nephews and one great, great niece, one uncle, many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10 a.m., at Coffel Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City, Kan. She will be laid to rest in Curry Cemetery, outside Mound City, Kan.

Anna will lie in state beginning Tuesday morning until service time.

The family suggests contributions to the Mound City United Methodist Church or Motivator's Sunday School Class, Central Community Church, Wichita, Kan.
