Blake Allen Beerbower, age 22, a resident of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was born Aug. 10, 1987, at Fort Scott. Blake had worked for both Wal-Mart Automotive and Valu Merchandisers. Blake enjoyed working with stereo systems as well as playing video games. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Beerbower, Fort Scott; the father by whom he was reared, Tracy Bybee and wife Cindy, Nevada; his birth father, Delbert William Douglas Jr., St. Joseph, Mo.; five brothers, Clinton Douglas and Jacob Douglas, both of Prescott, Kan.; Jared Bybee, Kevin Hill and Steven Collins, all of Nevada; six sisters, Christina Mayfield, of the state of Minnesota, Jessica Bybee, Fort Scott, Tara Douglas, from the state of Nevada, Crystal Douglas, Nashville, Tenn., Whitney Collins and Tiffany Willis, both of Nevada; grandparents, Elda and Tom Roark, Fort Scott, Jeanie Anderson, El Dorado Springs, Mo., Connie and Pete Moffett, Nevada, and Ginger and Bob Gardner, Mound City, Kan.; as well as a niece, several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Paul Bybee; his grandfathers, George Cooper, Dwayne Anderson and Cecil Allen Beerbower; and two nephews.

Pastor Jim Casselman will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Newton Burial Park at Nevada. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Blake Beerbower Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
