CYNTHIA STRINGER

Cynthia Stringer, age 53, resident of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, 2009, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark.

She was born Sept. 21, 1956, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Glen Oscar Banwart and Ruth Doreen Ater Banwart.

Cynthia was a 1974 graduate of Fort Scott High School.

She graduated from Fort Scott Community College and the Mercy School of Nursing with a RN degree.

She married James Wesley Stringer on Sept. 24, 1976, at the Mount Orum Baptist Church in Redfield, Kan.

Cynthia was a nurse in Fort Scott prior to moving to Rogers, where she worked as a nurse for St. Mary's Hospital and Boozman Hof Regional Eye Clinic. She retired in 2001 because of health.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers.

She was known for her love to write notes and letters of encouragement to those who needed them.

Survivors includes her husband Jim, of the home; one son, Chris Stringer and wife Anndee, Rogers, Ark.; one daughter, Elizabeth Kinnaman and husband Ryan, Siloam Springs, Ark.; her mother, Ruth Banwart, Fort Scott; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Marge Stringer, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are two sisters, Glenda Miner, Springdale, Arkansas and Sheila Whitley, Rogers; one granddaughter, Genna Stringer; three nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother, Jeffery Banwart.

Rev. Alan Johnson will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Visitation for Fort Scott friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon Saturday in the Community Christian Church.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday in the Mount Orum Cemetery near Redfield.

All services are under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel.
