(Charity) Joyce Singmaster, 81, of Fort Scott, passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009 at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Fort Scott.

She was born November 10, 1927 in Prescott, Kan., the daughter of Eldon 'Ed' Leroy and Jessie Mae (Smith) Brillhart.

She married Reece Singmaster in 1978 in Fort Scott, Kan. He preceded her in death November 23, 1999.

She graduated from Fulton High School, and worked as a clerk for Vista Pharmacy for ten years.

Joyce is survived by a daughter; Charlotte Barger of Olathe, Kan., a son; Chuck Holmes and his wife Kristy of Fort Scott; three stepchildren: Glen 'Richard' Singmaster, Judith Kay Barrows, and Gary Lee Singmaster, a brother; Eddie Brillhart of Fort Scott, a sister; Sharon Henderson of Dallas, Texas, five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister; June White.

Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, with burial following at Memory Gardens of Bourbon County.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Christmas Basket Fund and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
