Blu-Jays split with Oswego, M.V.

OSWEGO -- Pleasanton's volleyball team salvaged a split when it beat Marmaton Valley in Three Rivers League action here Tuesday.

The 25-22, 22-25, 25-21 win over the Wildcats gave the Blu-Jays their sixth victory of the season. They had won six matches in the previous four seasons combined.

The evening began with a 25-22, 25-17 loss to Oswego. Carlee Campbell, Rachel Richmond and Kim Robinson each had three kills. Rachel Landrum had six assists while Johnnea Saulsberry had four. Landrum and Darla Snyder were credited with four digs each.

Against Marmaton Valley, Campbell had seven kills, six digs and three aces. Richmond had six kills and six digs. Landrum dished nine assists while Saulsberry had six assists and five digs. Snyder also had five digs.

Last Saturday, the Blu-Jays (6-14) went 3-3 at the Humboldt Tournament. They beat Southeast-Cherokee, 25-20, 25-10; Kansas City Metro Academy, 20-25, 25-13, 25-23; and Marmaton Valley, 25-23, 25-17. They lost to Lebo, 25-20, 25-10 and to Baxter Springs twice -- 25-14, 25-19 the first time and 25-23, 25-19 the second time.
