Timmy Ray Lewis, age 57, resident of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1950, in Aurora, Mo., the son of Austin Lewis and Fannie Woods Lewis. He married Margaret Hagood on Sept. 15, 1973, in Mapleton, Kan. He served in both the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He worked as a mechanic and in parts sales at Shepherd Team Auto Plaza for 24 years. He loved his family dearly and will be remembered as a man who loved to help others. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and NASCAR.

Timmy is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; son John Cauthon and wife Beth, Fort Scott; father, Austin Lewis and wife Lila, Greenfield, Mo.; mother, Fannie May Walker and her husband Clarence, Uniontown; mother-in-law, Christina Hagood, Fort Scott; four brothers, Perry Lewis and wife Kathy, Greenfield, Mo.; Clinton Walker and wife Rachel, Uniontown, Kan.; Jesse Walker and wife Theresa, Uniontown, Kan.; and Dr. Andy Walker and wife Vicky, Belleville, Kan.; two sisters, Teresa Lewis Cozart and husband Brian, Little Rock, Ark., and Sue Ann Faye and husband Fred, Uniontown, Kan.; and two brothers in law, John Hagood and wife Barbara, Medicine Lodge, Kan., and Michael Hagood and wife RaeAnne, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Lynn Walker.

The Rev. Steve MacArthur will conduct funeral services for Timmy Lewis at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
