Kenneth Charles Butler, age 56, a resident of Fulton, Kan., died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. He was born Dec. 20, 1951, in Fort Scott, the son of Charles Leroy Butler and Marcella Mae Felt Butler. He graduated from the Prescott High School, and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for a number of years as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Dena of the home; and two daughters, Taylor Belcher, LaCygne, Kan., and Kennedy Shadaisy Butler, Liberal, Mo. Also surviving is his mother, Marcella Butler, Fort Scott; one brother, Keith Leroy Butler, Fort Scott; and eight sisters, Judy Marcella Holt, Norman, Okla.; Joyce Elaine Earp, Pocola, Okla.; Janet Sue Schill, Taneytown, Md.; Sylvia Jean Zimmerman, Liberal, Mo.; Jackie Lucille Demott, Fort Scott; Jolene Kay Graham, Gillette, Wyo.; Elizabeth June Maddox, Fairburn, Ga.; and Johna Coleen Lederhouse, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Leroy Butler, and an infant sister, Cheryl Diane Butler.

Following cremation, Becky Cowlishaw will conduct memorial services at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Private family burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Fulton.
