CHETOPA -- Uniontown High volleyball coach Jackie Hall feels her team is back on track after a Three Rivers League sweep over rival Marmaton Valley and host Chetopa here Tuesday night.

The Eagles, 3-3 in the TRL and 11-10 overall, swept Chetopa in the opener, 25-15, 25-13. Abbie Smith converted 13 of 15 attack opportunities and recorded 10 kills. Char Bradbury was 8 of 12 in attack with five kills.

Uniontown then defeated Marmaton Valley, 25-16, 25-18. Smith was 15 of 17 in attack with nine kills. Riley Stephens was six of eight with three kills.

"It was nice to see us playing volleyball the way we know we can play," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. "We passed well, which led us to be able to set our hitters up effectively and they certainly attacked the ball.

"Communication, which has been one of our weaknesses, was much improved last night. It was just a really good evening of volleyball for us."

The Eagle JV is 17-4 after beating Chetopa, 25-19, 25-5. Rayma Ridge served 12 points for Uniontown.

Uniontown's varsity is off until next Tuesday when it travels to Pleasanton for a TRL triangular. Crest will also be there.

The Uniontown JV will also be at Pleasanton next week. But it will also go to Frontenac on Thursday.
