Iva Lee Scantlin, Kansas City, Mo. passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit. Eastern Star service and visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. with the visitation from 1-2 p.m. at D.W. Newcomers Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Burial immediately following in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Iva Lee was born July 6, 1929 in Stotesbury, Mo. The third daughter of 5 children born to Lee and Eleanora Dryer. She graduated from Stotesbury High School and attended college in Ft. Scott, Kan. in preparation for teaching grades one through eight in a one room school house in Amos, Mo. She held accounting jobs in Kansas City, and retired from J.E. Dunn Construction Co. Iva was a member of Blue Valley Chapter #2 O.E.S. serving as Worthy Matron in 1982, 1993, 1997 and 1999. She was appointed as Grand Rep. of Saskatchewan, Canada in 1986, served as Grand Adah in 1991, and was District Deputy Grand Matron in 2001.

Iva is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard B. Scantlin of Kansas City, son Timothy R. and wife Terri Scantlin of Lee's Summit Mo., four grandchildren, brother, Charles and Wanetta Dryer, Grants Pass, Ore., sisters Alidene Brewer, Mildred Shelton, and Lora and Judge Sam Mason, all of Fort Scott, Kan., sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty and John Hoagland, Kansas City, Mo., Clarence and Marlene Scantlin of Lee's Summit, Mo., Raymond and Shirley Haskins of Kansas City, Mo., Mary Ellen and Marnie Scantlin of Kansas City, Mo., and one uncle, Lynell Stuart of Fort Scott, Kan. The family requests no flowers.
