NORMAN L. "CHUCK" CROSS

Norman L. Cross, age 57, of Edgerton, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 19, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Edgerton United Methodist Church, 300 E. 4th Street, Edgerton. Memorial contributions may be made to Edgerton United Methodist Church.

Chuck was born September 30, 1949 in Nevada, Missouri to Norman Ivan and Frances Maxine (Fellows) Cross. He grew up in Nevada, Missouri and graduated from Nevada High School in 1967. Norman married Frances Marie Dixon on February 24, 1981 in Olathe. They moved to Edgerton in 1983 where Frances is currently mayor. He was an inventory clerk for Marley Cooling Tower Company of Olathe for 30 years. He drove for Five Star Trucking, Edgerton. He coached girls' softball and Little League Baseball in Gardner and Edgerton. He also enjoyed fishing, Hunting and playing softball. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, thomas Dyson Cross; and sister, Norma Jean. Chuck is survived by his wife Frances of the home; son, Dustin Lee Cross and wife, Kimberly of Paola; daughter, Kati Marie Cross of Edgerton; sisters, Betty Simon, Westphalia, Mo. and Lora Lee Fahnestock, Fort Scott; one special grandson, Tucker.
