Marjorie E. "Peggy" Hammons Wogan, age 91, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Chetopa Manor in Chetopa, Kansas. She was born November 21, 1915 in Devon to Ed and Mary B. Ritchie Johnson. She graduated from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Junior College. She held an Assistant Funeral Directors License and was in business with her husband Glen W. Hammons owning and operating the Hammons Funeral Home is Oswego for 22 years. She retired in 1970. She returned to Fort Scott in 1972 from Oswego where she resided for 20 years. She married Glen W. Hammons September 28, 1935, in Devon. He passed away on January 7, 1970. She married Howard R. "Rudy" Wogan, October 4,1976 in Fort Scott. He passed away in 1992. She was a member of the Oswego Methodist Church and the FU chapter of PEO.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. G. Terry Hammons and wife Rebecca of Denver, Colorado, and Keith H. Hammons of Oswego; one step-son R. Keith Wogan of Houston, Texas; two step-daughters, Judith A. Hansen of New Mexico and Christina Wogan of Overland Park; one grandson Taylor Hokanson of Chicago, Illinois; and 9 step-grandchildren. Her parents; two brothers, Edward and Dale R. Johnson; and one sister, Frances Mowrey; and one step-daughter Lynn F. Devero preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Murdock Funeral Home Chapel, Oswego. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Murdock Funeral Home. The family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Oswego. Murdock Funeral Home of Oswego is in charge of arrangements.
