DARRELL GUY CLEMENTS

Darrell Guy Clements, age 51, a resident of Fort Scott, died unexpectedly, Sunday, March 18, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center Emergency Room.

He was born March 2, 1956, in Fort Scott, the son of Guy Allen Clements and Doris Alene Johnson Clements. He married Cynthia L. Brown on July 27, 1974, at Fort Scott. Darrell had been employed by Mid-Western Distribution, later Lease Way Transportation, for 16 years as body shop foreman. For the last 20 years, he operated his own business Custom Reconstruction Truck Repair (C.R.T.R.). He also raised cattle and in the summer ran a firework stand with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of the home; a son, Gabriel Clements, and wife, Brenda, Lee's Summit, Missouri, and a daughter, Gretchen Martin and husband, Kyle, Fort Scott. Also surviving are five brothers, Larry Joe Clements, Gary "Bud" Clements, Jerry Clements, all of Fort Scott, Terry Clements, Riverton, and Robert Clements, Willard, Missouri; a sister Joyce Stumfoll, Fort Scott; four grandchildren, Gabriella Clements, Emily Clements, Chase Clements and Elias Martin, and his mother-in-law, Virginia Brown, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Timothy Clements.

The Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.

Burial will follow in the West Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to a scholarship fund for Darrell's grandchildren and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
