Ray Robinson, age 80, of Fort Scott, long-time local pharmacist and Boy Scout leader, passed away peacefully at Mercy Health Center in the company of his family on Sunday, October 15, 2006, three days before his 81st birthday. He was born Alvin Ray Robinson, on October 18, 1925, in Lamar, Missouri, the son of Joseph M. Robinson and Mabel A. Nunns Robinson, and was a 1942 graduate of Lamar High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1943, and served and fought in the Pacific Theatre on the islands of Iwo Jima and Guam, and then in China after the wars end.
