A compassionate EMS

Fort Scott Mayor Jolynne Mitchell recognizes Jon Lowery Bourbon County Emergency Services paramedic, for the extra compassion he and other EMS personnel showed a patient in January. Also recognized but not present at the Jan. 18 city commission meeting were Katlyn Harper, BCEMS EMT; Daren Hutchison, Fort Scott Fire Department captain; and Andrew McGee, FSFD paramedic.

Members of the Bourbon County Emergency Service were recognized Feb. 18 for the compassion they showed one Fort Scott resident.

During the city commission meeting, Gene Payne told the story of his wife’s experience after suffering a heart attack on Jan. 27 at home. He said after he made the call to EMS, the crew arrived at Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg 57 minutes later.
