Hounds edge Indy 27-25

The Fort Scott Community College Greyhound football team squeezed out a 27-25 victory over the Independence Pirates during Homecoming Night Saturday at Frary Field.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Pirates, now 2-2 overall, got on the board first when freshman kicker Jalin Troutman booted through a 27-yard field goal, capping off an 18-play, 70-yard drive with 10:38 left in the second quarter. The Hounds, now 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the KJCCC, came back with 3:03 left in the quarter on freshman running back Kenneth Bothwell’s 2-yard run, putting the Hounds up, 7-3. Bothwell’s score followed a 13-play, 85-yard drive.
