Prayers answered for fire department benefit family

Riders gather behind the Fort Scott Fire Department Station No. 1 on June 8 for the Fifth Annual Benefit Ride sponsored by the department. Proceeds from this year’s ride benefitted Stephanie Lockwood and her family of Fort Scott.

This year’s Fort Scott Fire Department Benefit Ride, held Saturday, June 8, helps a family that is able to count its blessings while facing the unexpected.

According to Stephanie Lockwood’s mother, Doylene Chapman, every obstacle they faced was met with prayer and those prayers were answered.
