All-league and coaches of year released

Fort Scott High libero Jocie Allen was named to the First Team as the All-Southeast Kansas League Volleyball Team was released Tuesday.

Addi Lyons was named to the Second Team for the Tigers.

Seven players were voted to the First Team unanimously: Independence’s Kate Gordon and Kate Kleber, Chanute’s Sabry Trout and Tori Busse, Pittsburg’s Vanessa Yaghmore, Labette County’s Justice Brackney, and Parsons’ Nena Taylor. Kadyn Matlock of Pittsburg was also picked for the First Team,

With Lyons on the Second Team are Taylor Howland and Kaylee Bollig of Independence, Faith Turner of Pittsburg, Payton Smith of Labette County, Amelia Maulsby of Coffeyville and Cali Hudson of Chanute.

Kristi Speicher of league champion Independence was named the Coach of the Year.

The All-SEK Soccer Team was also released. David Brown, Gavin Pytlowany and Allen Santana of Fort Scott were all named to the Honorable Mention team.

The First Team players are Juan Hernandez, Cadden Bressler, Logan Bockover, Carlos Salas and Cristian Luna of champion Pittsburg, Jose Villanueva, Tate Thornberry and Heath Williams of Coffeyville, Micah Dozler and Carlos Ventura of Independence and Noah Crapson of Chanute.

Also on the Honorable Mention list are Chanute’s Chandler Finuf and Jacob Adams, Indy’s Jared Metcalf, Kylle Wilson and Jared Allison and Coffeyville’s Nick Slavin.

Kyle Bockover of Pittsburg was named Coach of the Year.

Fort Scott’s Tracey Bogina was named Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year. Brett Rineheart of Chanute was Coach of the Year for the boys. Dale Reynolds received the honor for girls’ golf and Sam Carnes of Independence for girls’ tennis.
