Kansas Day at Winfield Scott

Tuesday, January 30, 2018
Kelley Collins, a volunteer from the Fort Scott National Historic Site, portrays an early-day laundress at Fort Scott Monday as part of the Winfield Scott first grade studies on early Kansas. She explained the water and heat source for laundry water, how soap was made, clothes were washed and dried and then ironed. She was one of three Kansas Day presenters for the students.
