IOLA — Fort Scott Community College’s volleyball team gained its fourth win of the season in Region VI-Division II play with a sweep of Allen in Jayhawk Conference play here Wednesday night, 25-20, 25-10, 25-12.

The Greyhounds, who have won four straight matches and 13 of their last 16, improved to 4-6 against region opponents, which include the entire Jayhawk-Eastern Division and independent Hesston. They will play a key match to conclude regular-season play Monday night at Kansas City Kansas, which is also 4-5 in the region. The team that wins that match will finish with the No. 6 seed in the post-season tournament. The winner could tie with Neosho County if the Panthers lose to Independence Monday night, but Neosho holds tie-breakers over both Fort Scott and KCK.

Megan Turner had 12 kills to lead the ’Hounds (3-5 division, 25-9 overall) while Deardin Kelley and Grace Graniewski each had 7. Hanna White handed out 26 assists. Katie Gorman came up with 18 digs while Kelley had 15.

Allen (0-9, 0-34) remained winless on the season and has lost 41 consecutive matches going back to last season. The Red Devils haven’t won a set in their last 23 matches since losing 3 sets to 1 to Independence on September 8. Kansas City (3-5, 13-13) will come into Monday’s match on a four-match losing streak.
