Kansas Indians 16s score 26 runs in sweep
Gage Wilson’s 3-run home run in the bottom of the first inning of a doubleheader at Dave Regan Stadium Tuesday evening was just the beginning for the Kansas Indians 16-and-under team.
A 7-run fourth forced the 8-run version of the mercy rule to kick in to give the Indians a 12-4 win in the opener against Nevada. A 13-run third caused the 10-run version to come into effect as the Indians won game two, 14-2.
Wilson had 3 hits and drove in 5 runs and was the winning pitcher for the local team in the opener. Nevada tied the score 4-4 in the top of the third but the Indians got the lead back when Keenan Guilfoyle drove Brady Master in on a ground out.
