Wilma Ann Franks

Wilma Ann Franks, age 75, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. She was born March 31, 1941, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Virgil Crim and Pearl Harvey Crim. She married James H. Franks, Jr. on Dec. 23, 1966. Wilma had worked at various places during her lifetime, but retired from Labconco in Fort Scott. She enjoyed going to garage sales, fishing, traveling and taking trips to the casinos and car races. She was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her four children; James H. Franks, III, of Topeka, Kan., Bobby Franks, of Ordway, Colo., Venie Roggenkamp, of Henning, Minn., and John J. Franks, of Fontanna, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Dale Crim, of Branson, Mo., Vern Crim, of Spring Hill, Kan., and Roy Crim, of Edgerton, Kan.; a sister, Linda Adams, of Louisburg, Kan.; her dear friends, Pigeon Taylor and Myrna Patterson and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death on July 20, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jeremy Franks, five brothers, Johnny, Chester, Leo, Ray and Jimmy Crim and two sisters, Irena Crim and Virginia Granger.

There was cremation. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 at the Carriage House, 301 S. Main, Fort Scott. Private family burial will take place this summer at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery southwest of Fort Scott.
