William "Bill" Farr

William "Bill" Farr, 90, formerly of Fort Scott and most recently Parsons, Kan., died Wednesday evening, Feb. 8, 2017 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Sept. 25, 1926 in Fayette, Iowa, the son of Samuel J. and Vivian O. (Clark) Farr. He married Barbara Peet April 11, 1948, and they were divorced in 1970. He married Patricia Albright Feb. 11, 1972 and she preceded him in death May 1, 2008. He married Kathy E. Moyer Nov. 7, 2009 in Fort Scott, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist.He was a master electrician, owning his own business. He was a pilot and loved to fly, as well as woodworking and being outdoors, and he especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He was also a member of the VFW.

In addition to his wife Kathy, Bill is survived by his children, Michelle Bruner and husband Dave, of Fort Scott, Kan., Stephen Farr and wife Liuying, of Las Vegas, Nev., Sandra "Sandi" Lynne Farr Sheppard, of Norman, Okla., Cindi Kleine and husband John, of Alpine, Calif.; step-son Jeff Albright and wife Kim of Lebanon, Mo., step-daughter Kim Starr of Billings, Mont., step-son Raymond Proctor, of Nevada, Mo.; brother, Eugene Farr, of Marshalltown, Iowa; half-brothers Jerry Farr, of Mesa, Ariz., Robert Farr of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dennis Farr, also of Des Moines, Iowa; a half-sister, Barbara Schafer, of Arizona; 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara on Jan. 25, 2003, his second wife, Patricia, a brother, Jim Farr, a sister, Lorraine Sherman, two half-brothers, Stan Halfpop, and Larry Mitchell, and two half-sisters, Judy Bradford, and Juanita Brown.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services for Bill 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Feb. 18, 2017 at the Community Christian Church with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Parsons Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Detail. The family will receive friends Friday evening, Feb. 17, 2017 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
