Uniontown's boys drew the No. 2 seed at next week's Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament and will play their first two games in a three-team pool.

Eagle girls have been seeded fourth and will play their first two tourney games in a four-team bracket.

The different ways to advance in the tournament have come about as there are only seven schools playing this season.

Placement games will be played Friday, Jan. 20. The loser of each third-place bracket game will not play Friday and will finish in seventh place.

Uniontown (5-3) will play sixth-seeded Marmaton Valley (1-6) at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the south gymnasium. The Eagles will face Olathe Heritage Christian (2-4) on Thursday, with the time and gym to be determined.

Marmaton Valley has to play twice on Tuesday, facing Heritage Christian at 7 p.m. in the north gym.

Humboldt (6-1) is the top seed and plays Altoona-Midway (0-7) at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the south gym. Fourth-seeded Pleasanton (2-5) faces fifth-seeded Oswego (2-5) at 4 p.m. in the north gym. The losers play each other on Thursday as do the winners.

On Friday, the top team out of the bracket plays the pool winner for first place. The runner-up in the bracket plays the second-place pool team for third. And the bracket's third-place team faces the third-place team out of the pool for fifth. Thursday's bracket and all of Friday's schedule also apply to the girls' side of the tournament.
