James Louis Viergever

James Louis Viergever, 74, of Fort Scott, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan. He was born Jan. 7, 1942 in Topeka, Kan., the son of Louis Leonard and Velda May (Rinker) Viergever.

Jim graduated from Topeka High School in 1960 and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Jim is survived by his friend Diana Morriss, of Fort Scott, Kan.; sister Phyllis Bartel, of Shawnee, Kan.; a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following Cremation, Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Scott under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
