Barbara Louise "Barb" Loyd

Barbara Louise "Barb" Loyd, 61, of Fort Scott, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home. She was born Dec. 30, 1954 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Ronald Allen "Romey" and Josephine Ruth "Jo" (Keating) Rogers. She married Michael Loyd Sept. 1, 1978 in Fort Scott, Kan., and he survives of the home.

Barb graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1973. She was a member of Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and worked at the Western Insurance Co. from 1973 until 1980. Barb helped family members take care of her parents in their later years.

In addition to her husband Mike, Barb is survived by her two brothers, Gerry Rogers, and Larry Rogers, both of Fort Scott, and her sister, Mary Blankenship, also of Fort Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Following cremation, Father Robert Wachter will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation and Rosary Tuesday evening, May 17, 2016, from 6 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Covenant House in New York and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
