Uniontown baseball, softball each split with Marmaton Valley

MORAN -- Uniontown's baseball and softball teams each split Three Rivers League make-up doubleheaders here Monday. These were games originally scheduled for April 18.

Baseball: Uniontown 20-10, Marmaton Valley 4-12.

Uniontown's baseball team split a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Monday, winning game one against Marmaton Valley, 20-4. The Wildcats won the second game 12-10.

Uniontown (3-4 TRL, 4-9 overall) had 15 hits in the opener. Graham Hathaway was 3 for 4 with 4 runs batted in. All three of his hits were doubles.

Jesse Kuns and David Bradbury each had 2 hits. Coyan, Bradbury and J.P. Pearson each drove in 2 runs.

Cale Coyan allowed 4 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8.

Marmaton Valley scored 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning of game two and never trailed. Uniontown scored 3 runs in each of the next 3 innings but were still down 8-6.

Pearson was 3 for 4 for Uniontown while Kuns went 2 for 4.

Softball: Uniontown 17-12, Marmaton Valley 7-13.

MORAN -- Uniontown's softball team split a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Monday, winning game one from Marmaton Valley, 17-7, then dropping the second game, 13-12.

Keely Goodridge allowed 4 hits, walked 7 batters and struck out 5 for the Eagles in game one. Danielle Young and Bre Hampton had 3 hits each while Holly Shinn, Daryan Herring and Makenzee Franklin each has 2.

Franklin had 3 hits in the second game while Hampton had 2.

Both Uniontown teams are scheduled to play at Humboldt Thursday.
