Billy G. Meech

Billy G. Meech, age 84, a resident of rural Fort Scott, Kan., died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Linn County, Kan., the son of Juell Walter Meech and Elsie May Finney Meech. He first married Carol Jean McHenry. They were divorced. He later married Joyce Brown on Sept. 2, 1967, at Fort Scott. In his earlier years, he worked in logging and fruit orchards in the Northwest. He later returned to Kansas and worked for Bourbon County and later for the State Highway Department. He retired as supervisor for the Highway Department after 35 years of service. In addition, he farmed and raised cattle.
