Greyhound softball drops pair at Crowder

NEOSHO, Mo. --Fort Scott Community College's softball team dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader here Tuesday to Crowder College.

Crowder won the opener 13-2 and the second game 9-0.

The Roughriders scored in every inning of the first game, which was stopped after 4 1/2 innings. They had 12 base hits and 6 walks off three Fort Scott pitchers.

Fort Scott had 8 hits, 2 by Kristen Tyler and 2 by Amber Sutton.

The Greyhounds had just 4 hits in game two. Pitcher Aubrey Smith (2-4) was charged with 4 unearned runs.

Fort Scott returns home this afternoon with a non-conference doubleheader against Cottey College at the Betty Ruth Willard Complex. Play begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, the 'Hounds will be on the road again, traveling to Kansas City, Mo., to take on Maple Woods.
