Friday Fish Fry
Saturday, February 27, 2016
About 500 people filtered through St. Mary's Kennedy Gym Friday evening for the weekly Knights of Columbus Fish Fry for during Lent. Roughly 3,000 people are expected to receive meals during the six-week event, K. of C. member Joe Barr said. During the event, which has been held for more than 15 years, the Knights serve about 150 pounds of fish each week, he said.
"It's a community fellowship," he said. "This is just wonderful for all the people to come."
The meal is based on a free-will donation and is "for every religion," Barr said.
The menu is deep-fried catfish or baked cod, spaghetti with sauce, a baked potato or fries, vegetables, dessert, and a drink.
