Darlene Hess

Darlene Hess, 87, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Lakepoint Nursing Center, Augusta, Kan.

Edna Darlene Cameron was born to Edward H. and Melvina (Button) Cameron on Jan. 30, 1928 in Fort Scott, Kan. Darlene grew up in Bell Town and attended school in Fort Scott.

On February 20, 1947, Darlene married Wayne R. Hess in Independence, Kan. Following their marriage, they lived in Oregon for a year and a half before returning to Fort Scott. When Wayne secured a job with Cessna in 1950, they moved to the Wichita area.

Darlene retired from Cessna in 1990 after working for 19 years. Wayne and Darlene moved to the Toronto area in 2001.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include son Greg and wife Diane of Toronto; granddaughter, Sarah Gray of St. Louis; and lots of nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Coyville Community Center in Coyville, Kan. Memorial donations may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left at www.timmonsfuneralhome.com.
