FSCC boys' camp begins Monday; girls' starts June 15

Friday, June 5, 2015

The Fort Scott Community College Men's and Women's Basketball Teams will host summer camps during the month of June. The purpose of the camps are to teach and develop the fundamental skills of basketball.

The boys' camp will be held June 8-12 of next week. A morning session for grades 3 to 5 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. An afternoon session for grades 6 to 9 will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.

The girls' camp will be held June 15-19. The morning session, from 8:40-11:30 a.m., will be for grades 4-8. The afternoon session for grades 9 through 12 will be held from 1-4 p.m.

Both camps will be held on campus in Arnold Arena on the FSCC campus.

Campers will focus on drills specific to these core elements - passing, ball handling, shooting, and defense. Along with individual instruction in these areas, team offensive and defense, as well as strategy and conditioning will be taught.

Campers will receive individual and group instruction from staff and players. Each camper will also receive an individualized evaluation form to help them become better basketball players.
