I.H. "Cope" Copeland, 88, of Parsons, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Parsons. He was born in McAlester, Okla., on Sept. 5, 1926 and grew up there. He worked for the M-K-T Railroad for many years, retiring in 1972 as signal supervisor. He had lived in Parsons since 1967. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.

He and Rowena (Lind) Walker were married in Moran on July 31, 1965 and she preceded him in death Sept. 2, 2014. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Parsons.

Survivors include two daughters, Candyce Ellison and husband Paul of Hewitt, Texas, and Cheryl Geuea of Granbury, Texas; step-son Bill Walker and wife Kay of Parsons; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a grandson, Criston Wharton, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. The graveside committal service will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Fairview Cemetery at Mildred.
