Eddie Cale Rinehart

Eddie Cale Rinehart, 55 of Nashville, Tenn., ended his 12-year battle with cancer on March 3, 2015 with his family by his side at home.

He was born on Sunday June 7, 1959 at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., to MSGT Edward and Carlene Kruger Rinehart. He was a graduate of Neches High School in Neches, Texas, class of 1977. He served four years as a corpsman in the United States Navy until 1988. Eddie went on to have a career as a medical technologist in the hospital laboratory where he met his wife of 24 years, (Missy) Melissa Rinehart while at Memorial Hospital in Palestine, Texas. In 2001 Eddie went to work at Healthcare Management Systems in Nashville, Tenn., where he installed and programmed laboratory interfaces, retiring in 2013.

His interests include his family, computers, tropical fish, RC planes, helicopters or cars, cooking, gardening, billiards, baseball, golf, Dallas Cowboys and any sport or performance where his children were involved.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Missy of Nashville, Tenn.; mother, Carlene Rinehart of Fort Scott, Kan.; sisters, Jeanann (Greg) Summer of Maynor Texas; Carrie (Mike) Baker of LaPort Texas; brother Greg (Violet) of Jacksonville, Texas; sons, Eddie Cale Jr., Bradley and Devin Rinehart all of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Jenny (Benjamin) Holt of Nashville, Tenn., Crystal (Justin) Davis of Neches, Texas, and Heather (Corey) Hillebrand of Metropolis, Ill.; grandchildren, Keira, Bailey, Lily, Macy, Alex, Layla, Jackson, Teagan and Kiylee.

He was an honorable man and those of us who loved him most revered him as our own personal "Superman."

We would like to thank his team of specialists, who without them we would not have been able to have him with us as long. Thank you Dr. Polk, Dr. Faber, Dr. Lewis, Dr. Greco and the nurses and staff of Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.

Pallbearers will be, Eddie Cale Rinehart, Bradley Rinehart, Devin Rinehart, Greg Rinehart, Mike Baker, Greg Sumner, Corey Hillebrand, Ben Holt and Justin Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Clark, Jim Lunceford, Krystal Walker, Greg Templeton,

Abdias Peterson, Tim Davis and Kenny Losman.

The Rinehart family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Eddie's life will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2014 with Pastor George Stull of Hope Park Church officiating.
