Seedings and first-round pairings were released for the Oswego Class 2A Sub-State Basketball Tournaments Wednesday afternoon and both Uniontown teams will play first-round games on the road to start next week's play.

Tuesday night in the final games of the regular season, the Eagles were swept on the road by Southern Coffey County at LeRoy. The girls fell 34-33 and the boys lost 49-44. No other details of either game were provided.

Uniontown's boys finished the regular season with a record of 9-11 and have been seeded seventh for Sub-State. They will face second-seeded Udall (15-5) on the road Monday night at 6 p.m. The other first-round pairings, also to be played Monday, have No. 8 Yates Center (6-13) going to No. 1 Howard-West Elk (15-4), No. 5 Oxford (10-10) versus No. 4 Colgan (10-7) at Pittsburg, and No. 6 Oswego (9-11) going to No. 3 Sedan (12-7).

Semifinals will be held at Oswego Thursday. The Uniontown-Udall winner faces the Oswego-Sedan winner and the Oxford-Colgan victory will face the Yates Center-West Elk winner.

Eagle girls (4-16) are the No. 5 seed in a Sub-State in which only two teams have winning records but both of them have won at least 15 games. All four girls' first-round games will be played Tuesday.

Uniontown will play at No. 4 Oswego (5-15) at 7 p.m. Tuesday night. Also, No. 8 Yates Center (1-18) will be at top-seeded Colgan (16-2), No. 7 Udall (2-17) plays at No. 2 Sedan (15-4) and No. 6 Howard-West Elk (2-16) will travel to No. 3 Oxford (8-13).

Friday's semifinals at Oswego have the Uniontown-Oswego winner pitted against the Yates Center-Colgan victor and the West Elk-Oxford winner taking on the Udall-Sedan winner.
