Leslie Elmer Judy

Leslie Elmer Judy, age 56, a resident of Vidor, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at his home in Vidor. He was born July 26, 1958, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Elmer Judy Jr. and Ella Gates Judy. Les graduated from Fort Scott Christian Heights and later from Pittsburg State University. He owned and operated an upholstery shop in Fort Scott. Les later moved to Denver, Colo., where he was employed as a designer for Kohlberg's Jewelry Store. He then owned and operated his own antique shop in Denver for several years. He later relocated to Vidor, Texas, where he helped his brother operate J3 Metals. Les was a very creative and artistic person who found it easy to make friends wherever he went.

Survivors include his parents, Elmer and Ella Judy of Fort Scott; a brother, Mike Judy and wife, Carma, of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Gwen Chance and husband, Terry and Jan Beltram and husband, Larry, all of Fort Scott; three nephews, Brent Chance and wife, Angela, Harrisonville, Mo., Brandon Beltram and wife, Amber, Eldorado Springs, Mo., and Lynden Judy and wife, Katie, Orange, Texas and a niece, Kristi Beltram, of Fort Scott. Also surviving are great-nieces and great-nephews, Alec, Nate, Kole, Alena, Mikah, Emma, Tally and Claire. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Dustin Chance.

Rev. Mark Stetler will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Parkway Church of God (Holiness). Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Fort Scott Christian Heights and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
