Patricia Rae Kreutzer

Patricia Rae Kreutzer, age 71, a former resident of Pittsburg, Kan., and more recently of Fort Scott, Kan., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at the Fort Scott Mercy Hospital. She was born June 28, 1943, in Lamar, Mo., the daughter of Ray Andrews Caruthers and Evelyn Laverne Ison Caruthers. She married Noah Dean Williams in 1964. To this union, four children were born. They later divorced. Patricia and her family lived in Hutchinson, Kan., for several years. She moved to Pittsburg to attend college. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1989. She married Aaron Kreutzer in 1992. While in Pittsburg, she was employed by Safehouse for 10 years and later for Crawford County Mental Health Center for 10 years. In addition, she and her husband, Aaron worked as on-site managers for Housing for All, a homeless facility in Pittsburg. Patricia was always involved in church and civic events. She was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Scott, the Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also the first female member of the Sunflower Kiwanis Club of Pittsburg where she served three terms as club secretary and one term as president. Patricia also served on the board of directors for both Safehouse and Housing for All. While in the nursing home she served on the residents' advisory council. She also enjoyed painting and entered her artwork in several area fairs and art shows.

Survivors include her husband, Aaron, of Arma, Kan.; four children, Dianna Campbell and husband, David, of Arnold, Md., Marvin Williams and wife, Ronda, of Franklin, Kan., Norman Williams and wife, Kiok, of Norman, Okla. and Vernon James Williams and wife, Jennifer, of Benton, Ark.; two step-daughters, Marilyn Kreutzer-Taylor, of Frontenac and Deann Schamerhorn and husband, Shaun, of Pittsburg. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Tara, Kyle, Garrett, Sally, Nathan, Samuel, Haley, Natalie, Kendra and Kenzie; two step-grandsons, Christopher and Conner; a brother, Randy Caruthers, of McPherson, Kan.; a sister, Rebecca Smith, of Emporia, Kan., and an aunt and uncle, Jean and Harvey Buzzard of Lamar, Mo.

Father Robert Wachter will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Iantha Cemetery west of Lamar, Mo. The family will receive friends Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheney Witt Chapel with the rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Crisis Resource Center of Pittsburg and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
