Jay girls prevail over UHS

PLEASANTON -- Pleasanton's girls prevailed here Friday night, 40-30, over Uniontown as Sydney Dent scored 13 points and Abby Howell added 11 in a non-league contest between the Three Rivers League rivals.

"Down 23-5 at the half, the girls dug deep and brought it back within 8," Uniontown head coach Dustin Miller said. "I am extremely pleased with the way we played the last two quarters. We have to learn to play like that for four in a row."

Shalina Harper led Uniontown (1-5) with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Jana Wilkinson added 8 points and picked up 4 steals.

Uniontown's teams will be back in action on January 6, when they travel to Jayhawk-Linn for another pair of non-league games.

Pleasanton improved to 3-2 on the season.
