'Meet the Greyhounds' night Thursday at arena

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team will host the first "Meet the Greyhounds" night at Arnold Arena at 6 p.m. Thursday night. The event will give fans, alumni and the community the opportunity to watch and interact with student-athletes from this year's team.

The evening will include introductions of the players followed by practice and an intrasquad scrimmage. The event will conclude with recognition of the 2013-14 Region VI and Jayhawk Conference Division II men's basketball championship banner, the NJCAA National Tournament banner and an autograph session.

"Last year's success was a result of our players buying into the process of becoming a great team and we're excited to honor their success on this night," FSCC head coach Michael Cook, the Jayhawk Conference's Men's Basketball Coach of the Year award winner last season, said. "We're also excited to get the season underway."

The season begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday night with a game at Barton in Great Bend. The Greyhounds will play Dodge City there on Saturday at 3 p.m.
