JV tennis plays double duel

PITTSBURG --Fort Scott High School's junior varsity tennis team played a pair of best-of-nine duals here Tuesday against two Pittsburg teams.

Results:

No. 1 singles: Ashlee Montojo lost to Trina Pail, Pittsburg White, 6-0; def. Breiyana Binegar, Pittsburg Purple, 6-2.

No. 2 singles: Emily Adams lost to Chania Stewart, PW, 6-3; def. Hannah Hodson, PP, 6-4.

No. 3 singles: Addison Cunningham def. Laney Burton, PW, 6-5 (7-6); def. Elizabeth Kelly, PP, 6-0.

No. 4 singles: Madi Larson lost to Alexa Yantis, PW, 6-1; lost to Stephanie Neville, PP, 6-3.

No. 5 singles: Kendall Madison def. Maddie Baden, PW, 6-2; def. Devon Coulter, PP, 6-4.

No. 6 singles: Aubry Terry lost to Alexis Pichler, PW, 6-1; lost to Gina Matthews, PP, 6-5 (13-11).

No. 1 doubles: Montojo and Adams lost to Paul/Stewart, PW, 6-3; def. Binegar/Hodson, PP, 6-1.

No. 2 doubles: Cunningham and Larson lost to Burton/Yantis, PW, 6-2; def. Kelly/Neville, PP, 6-5 (8-6).

No. 3 doubles: Madison and Terry lost to Baden/Pichler, PW, 6-2; def. Coulter/Matthews, PP, 6-5 (7-5).

The next scheduled outing for the Tiger JV team will be Tuesday at Parsons for the Labette County Invitational. Play will begin at 3 p.m.
