Karrie M. Caruthers, age 66, resident of Bronaugh, Mo., died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at her home following a cancer illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1947, at Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Elmer William Bias and Lula Jean Kesterson Bias. Karrie first married Larry David Coleman on Sept. 16, 1963. They later divorced. She married Chris E. Caruthers on Oct. 11, 1991, at Gladstone, Mo. She cleaned homes and offices for many years. Karrie enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren as well as fishing, camping and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Chris, of the home; two sons, David Dale Coleman and wife, Nancy, Pleasanton, Kan., and Travis Coleman and wife, Amanda, Fort Scott, Kan.; two daughters, Kimberly Woodall, Fort Scott, Kan., and Christy Wright and Jim Baumann, Boliver, Mo.; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Doug Bias, Sr. and wife, Cathy, Tonganoxie, Kan.; six sisters, Natia Bias, Tampa, Fla., Lois Yvonne Ruiz and husband, Chris, Kansas City, Kan., Nancy Grotzinger and Carol Sue Bias, both of Bonner Springs, Kan., Betty Wilson, San Clemente, Calif., and Beverly Lambert and husband, Steve, Norco, Calif., and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer William Bias and Jean Bias Brandenburg; three brothers, Bill, John and Roland Bias; a sister, Kitty Yonda and a grandson, Andrew.

Rev. George Proctor will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O.
