Construction workers from Lathrop Construction of Nevada, Mo., began laying pipe Tuesday for Uniontown's water system improvement project. Work began on Maple Road, near Kansas Highway 3 and is going east to the city's eastern limit. Standard procedure for comments or questions regarding the project should be directed to the city office, Jack Lathrop of Lathrop Construction said. Workers will work from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
