Dancers are gearing up for Rotary's fourth annual "Dancing with our Stars" by putting in long hours practicing.

"This event is very popular and these dancers make a huge commitment of time to be a part of DWOS," said Paul Wright, Rotary President and past participant himself. "They are practicing in venues all over town to be ready for the two shows."

DWOS will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Danny and Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center on the FSCC campus. There will be a matinee performance at 3 p.m. and another performance at 7 p.m.

This year's theme is "Broadway Edition" and the dancers have picked songs with a Broadway show theme. Dancers include Otie Thomas and Thelma Phillips dancing to "Somewhere My Love" from the musical Dr. Zhivago; Eric Garner and Allison Daly dancing to "All That Jazz" from Chicago; Dave Martin and Chris Sather dancing to "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray; Lisa Bagnall and Tim Emerson Jr. dancing to "You're the One That I Want" from Grease; Gina Findley and Travis Shelton dancing to "I Don't Need Anything But You" from Annie; Angela Meyer and Shawn O'Brien dancing to "Jailhouse Rock" from All Shook Up; Michael Dzbenski and Carly Hyer dancing to "It Don't Mean a Thing if you Ain't Got That Swing" from Swing; David Conradt and Audrey Daniels dancing to "Take a Chance on Me" from Mamma Mia; and Yolonda Gray and Ted Koller to "Stand By Me" from Smoky Joe's Café.

Opening the show this year with a dance to "Broadway Baby" will be 10 dancers from Susan Stern's School of Dance. The girls are Raylee Cowan, Bristol Marsh, Jaidyn Crumby, Graycyn Brown, Kinsley Brown, Riley Findley, Addison Metcalf, Lexi Judy, Lily Houser and Brylee Hymer.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce in downtown Fort Scott. All seats are reserved and ticket prices are $10. VIP seating, which is the first five rows of the center section, is available for $15.
