For all the breakfast lovers out there, breakfast will be served all day on Thursday, Dec. 12, thanks to the Fort Scott Kiwanis Club.

The 92nd Kiwanis Pancake Feed will be from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Temple, 110 S. Main. St. Tickets, which are available from any Kiwanian, are $5 for youth and adults. Kids under 5 are admitted at no charge.

The event also will feature Eugene Elementary School students who will be signing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The annual pancake feed has been a steady fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club.

"We've served a couple thousand people in past years," Kiwanis member George Kutey said.

The Kiwanis is a service organization that helps children in Bourbon County. Proceeds from the Pancake Feed fund those activities.

Members are involved in assisting other local service organizations that help families with children in need, such as The Beacon, Mother-to-Mother Ministries and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bourbon County. The Kiwanis Club also assists with the Fort Scott Community College's annual Breakfast with Santa event.

"We also have an indigent students fund," Kutey said. "We found teachers were paying for things for their students out of their own pocket because the families didn't have money for supplies or clothes."

He said teachers can now help those students without digging into their own pockets.

The Kiwanis Club not only helps children, but also sponsors the Key Club comprised of youth Kiwanis members.
