Charles William Jewsbury, Jr., age 83, a resident of rural Fort Scott, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the Fort Scott Manor in Fort Scott, Kan. He was born March 14, 1930, in Bourbon County, Kan., the son of Charles W. Jewsbury and Anna Parker Jewsbury. He had served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. While in the Air Force, he was stationed primarily in Japan, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He married Lucille Toler on Aug. 18, 1952, at Gravette, Ark. For many years, Charlie owned a trenching business and also operated his own cattle operation. He was a regular at Boone and Dauben's until it closed. He then moved his "office" to the Nu Grille. He enjoyed caring for his pets and going to the Fort Scott Jubilee. He faithfully attended the Parkway Church of God (Holiness).
