A Fort Scott man died Monday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Kansas 31 and 215th Street about a mile south of Fulton.

The wreck occurred at about 12:50 p.m. when a 2005 International semi-truck pulling a trailer, driven by Ronald Beckham, 56, of Seneca Mo., struck a 2002 KIA Sedona driven by Marion H. Eastwood, 72, of Fort Scott.

Beckham was westbound on K-31, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Eastwood's vehicle, which was northbound on 215th Street, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Eastwood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Beckham was transported to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

Both drivers were wearing safety restraints, the report states.

Assisting with the investigation was the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office.
